Privacy Policy
Effective October 12, 2026
1. Who We Are
Nashville Avenue Studios LLC, doing business as LouisianaBarTutor.ai (“Louisiana Bar Tutor,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), operates the Louisiana Bar Tutor website and study platform (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. Louisiana Bar Tutor is an independent study aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Louisiana Supreme Court Committee on Bar Admissions or the National Conference of Bar Examiners. By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you have any questions, email us at hello@louisianabartutor.ai.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to run your account and provide the Service:
- Account and identity. When you create an account or join our waitlist, we (through our authentication provider, Clerk) collect your email address, your name, and the credentials used to sign you in. If you join the waitlist, we collect the email address you submit so we can notify you when access opens.
- Profile information you provide. This may include your law school, your student or candidate status, your target bar exam sitting, your Louisiana bar applicant identification number (optional), your account type, how you heard about us, and your consent choices (for example, whether you permit outcome matching or email reminders).
- Study activity. To power a performance-based study experience, we store the work you do on the platform: diagnostic responses and results, written practice answers, timed exam attempts and answers, the feedback and grades generated for your answers, flip-card self-ratings, the answers you type into practice cards, your highlights and notes (annotations), your “to review” items, your study plans, item completion, active study time, cram-sheet content, and any content issues you report to us.
- Payment information. If and when you purchase access, payments are processed by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not receive or store your full payment card number. We retain limited billing records, such as the amount paid, the sitting purchased, transaction identifiers, and payment status.
- Communications and agreements. We keep records of your acceptance of our Terms of Service and download agreement, and of messages you send us (for example, support or refund requests).
- Technical and usage data. Like most websites, our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare) automatically logs technical information such as your IP address, device and browser type, and basic request logs, which we use to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and operate your account and provide the Service.
- To personalize your study experience, including diagnostics, grading, your study plan, and the material we surface to you based on your performance.
- To generate feedback on your written answers using artificial intelligence (see Section 4).
- To process payments, provide receipts, and administer refunds and access.
- To send you transactional email (through our email provider, Resend), such as account, receipt, and service messages.
- To confirm your bar exam outcome for access purposes, where you have consented (see Section 6).
- To improve the accuracy and quality of our materials, including from the issues you report.
- To secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
4. Artificial Intelligence
We use artificial intelligence to generate feedback and grades on your written answers. Specifically, we send the content of your answers, along with the related question and grading context, to Anthropic, PBC (the maker of Claude), through its API, which returns the feedback shown to you. Anthropic does not use inputs or outputs submitted through its API to train its models. We do not sell this content, and we do not use it for advertising.
AI-generated feedback can contain errors and is provided for study purposes only. Please do not submit anyone else’s confidential, privileged, or personal information into the platform.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with the service providers that help us run the Service, and only as needed for them to perform their functions on our behalf:
- Clerk (account authentication and identity).
- Neon (database hosting for your account and study data).
- Cloudflare (website hosting, content delivery, and security).
- Resend (transactional email delivery).
- Anthropic (AI feedback on written answers, as described above).
- Stripe (payment processing, when paid access is offered).
We may also disclose information when required by law or legal process, to enforce our Terms, to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case we will seek to ensure the information remains protected consistent with this Policy.
6. Bar Exam Outcome Matching
Access to the paid Service is tied to your bar exam sitting (see our Terms of Service). To administer that access after results are released, we may compare your name and, if you provided it, your bar applicant identification number against the pass list that is publicly published by the relevant bar admissions authority, solely to determine whether you passed. You consent to this matching during onboarding, and you may decline. Declining does not reduce your access rights; it simply means we rely on the information you give us. We use the result of this matching only to administer access, not for advertising, and we do not sell it.
7. Cookies and Local Storage
We use only essential cookies and local browser storage: the cookies needed to keep you signed in (authentication, through Clerk) and to keep the Service secure and fast, and local storage used to remember your in-app preferences and to support offline study. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers. Because we use only essential storage, we do not display a tracking-consent banner.
8. Data Retention
We retain your account and study data for as long as your account exists, so that your progress, notes, and plan are there when you return. Consistent with our approach to your work, we do not delete your saved study data simply because your paid access period has ended; your data remains so you can pick up where you left off. We retain certain records, such as payment and tax records, for as long as required by law. You may request deletion of your account and personal information at any time (see Section 10), subject to records we must keep to comply with legal obligations.
9. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit and the use of reputable infrastructure and service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your login credentials confidential and notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
10. Your Privacy Rights
You may request to access, correct, update, export, or delete your personal information, and you may withdraw a consent you previously gave, by emailing us at hello@louisianabartutor.ai. We will respond consistent with applicable law.
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, including the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it, the right to request deletion or correction, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. Residents of other states with similar laws may have comparable rights, which we honor where applicable.
11. Children’s Privacy
The Service is intended for adults preparing for the bar exam and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. United States-Based Service
The Service is operated in and intended for users in the United States, and your information is processed in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local law.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
